CIF Sac-Joaquin D1 Baseball Champions

With Jesuit knocked out of the CIF Sac San Joaquin Division 1 baseball play-offs for the first time since 2002, I was curious who has won the championship in the past. Since 2005, only three teams have been section championship: Elk Grove (4), Jesuit (2) and St. Mary's (3). Elk Grove is on track to win it again this year.

2005 D1-North Elk Grove D1-Final Elk Grove
2006 D1-North Elk Grove D1-Final Elk Grove
2007 D1-North Elk Grove D1-Final Elk Grove
2008 D1-North Jesuit D1-Final Jesuit
2009 D1-North Jesuit D1-Final Jesuit
2010 D1-North Elk Grove D1-Final St. Mary's
2011 D1-North Jesuit D1-Final St. Mary's
2012 D1-North Franklin D1-Final St. Mary's
2013 D1-North Elk Grove D1-Final Elk Grove

Looking forward over the next two years, I am hopeful that Jesuit can get back into the play-offs next year. With only one senior starting for Elk Grove this year, they are going to be extremely tough next year; they are very deep in underclassmen pitching. Jesuit will be in the same league with Elk Grove next year. I am hopeful that Jesuit can make a deep run in 2016 when Jack is a senior.

Next year as part of the league realignment, the Delta league will include:

  • Davis Sr.
  • Elk Grove
  • Franklin
  • Grant
  • Jesuit
  • Monterey Trail
  • Pleasant Grove
  • Sheldon
