With the Egypt trip looming, Sharon read Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie. When she finished the book, she wanted to watch the movie. Sharon and I watched the 2022 version of Death on the Nile on Sunday night.
Death on the Nile is a mystery film directed by Kenneth Branagh from a screenplay by Michael Green. It is based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. Kenneth Branagh and Tom Bateman star as Hercule Poirot and Bouc, respectively. The ensemble cast includes Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer [Call Me by Your Name], Rose Leslie, and Letitia Wright.
Sharon was a little miffed that the plot of the movie diverged so much from the book. Although the movie was filmed in England, I enjoyed the scenes with the pyramids, the Sphinx, Aswan, the Nile and Abu Simbel. We have signed up for an excursion to Abu Simbel. We will probably watch the 1978 version of the film on Monday night.
