After a short run on the treadmill, I got a quick bit to eat in Times Square. Checking out of hotel, I wandered the 10 blocks from Times Square to Penn Station. I caught a 11:00 p.m. train to Washington D.C.
It was an interesting train ride through both Philadephia and Baltimore. Looking at the city as you came into the train station in both cities, there was a lot of poverty and what appear to be large areas of government housing projects. Combined with the thickness and the color of the vegetation, you can not forget you are not in Northern California.
Nooter and Wallen met me at Union Station in Washington D.C. after 2:00 p.m. We had a late lunch at Capitol City Brewing Company across the street from the train station.
We spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on the Nooter's back porch and catching up. Eventually, Rob, Barb, Wes, Austin, Madeline, Wallen and I had a late dinner at Dogfish Head Brewing Company. None of us liked the microbrews that we had from this brewery; they had an odd aftertaste. Combined the quality of the food, I am not sure that I would ever go back.
We ended the day sitting on the back porch until after midnight.
